Overview/Guidelines:
Washington DC requires no permits or registration for physicians to dispense medications at the point of care. If a physician follows all state and federal laws for prescription drugs they have the right to dispense out of their practice during the normal course of practicing medicine. Physicians distributing or dispensing controlled substances must register with the DC Department of Health.
